Group Visits
We are a hands-on learning and play center with over forty interactive and educational exhibits located on one floor. The museum welcomes school trips, first grade and under. Students, teachers and parents have a great time. One teacher said, “”I have truly never enjoyed a class trip as much as this one.”
School groups (first grade and under) and day care centers/nursery schools are welcome, but we do require an advance reservation and each group must provide adequate supervision. We require ONE adult supervisor (16 years or older) per FOUR children. This is strictly enforced for the safety of all the children.
Our group rate is $8.00 per person (children and adults are the same price) plus tax (unless you are tax exempt in New Jersey). We cannot accept out-of-state tax exempt forms. One chaperone is admitted free with every 15 students. Reservations and a deposit are required 30 days from date of reservation to receive the group rate. Coupons or other discounts cannot be used for group trips
Trip time is limited to 2 l/2 hours per visit. The first two hours are free play in the museum. The students are free to explore the museum’s interactive exhibits with their chaperone while also participating in any of the scheduled special activities. The last 30 minutes are reserved for your lunch time in one of our lunch rooms. You must bring your own brown bag lunch as there is no cafeteria available.
Trips are scheduled Monday through Friday mornings with arrivals of 10:00 or 10:30 AM. The fall and winter are a great time to schedule school trips as we are less busy during those seasons. Camp groups are also welcome to enjoy our air-conditioned facility during the summer. There is plenty of free parking for your group’s buses. July 20-23 “ Model Magic” We’ll have play dough ( non toxic) for the youngest visitors and modeling clay for the older kids. We’ll show some basic modeling techniques and neat tools to use to mold their masterpiece.
July 27-30 “ Just Stamp It” Use all different stamps and color pads to make cards and wrapping paper. We’ll even make a Pirate Treasure Map!
August
August 3-6 “Beading Bonanza” Come beading with us! We’ll have all different types of beads for bracelets, necklaces and more. Not just for girls, we’ll have cool stuff for boys too!
